This year for Mardi Gras break, I went to Snowmass, Colorado. We have been going here every year for four years, so im very familliar with the village. I love to ski, and I love the atmosphere of being in the mountains. Skiing is one of my favorite things to do, and I'm actually good at it. I really like to challenge myself, so I like to do the jumps, ramps, and half pipe. This year I started to get really comfortable with it because I landed most of what I tried! While I was waiting in line to go, I saw another skiier do a 360. It didn't look that hard, so I thought I'd try it because it was the last day and the worst that could happen was that I would wipe out. It didn't really work out as I planned it to. I only did a 180, and I landed it but then as I was going backwards I fell over; it hurt. I got up and acted like it was nothing because it was quite embarrassing. My friend asked if I was okay, and I said, "I think I'm done for the day…" My friend still wanted to ski, so I had to go alone.
To get back to our condo from where we were you had to go down this blue in the middle of no where. I had gone down it many times before, so I thought it wouldn't be a problem. As I was skiing, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going because all I could think about was how much pain I was in. A couple minutes later I realized I had taken a wrong turn because my surroundings didn't look familliar. I decided to go through a path in the woods to the right because I heard when your lost on the slopes to always go right. I eventually found my way back to where I was supposed to be and was relieved. I made it back, so now I am in bed on pain medication typing this story. All in all it was a great trip. I'm so thankful that I got hurt on the last day because my dad wasn't so lucky and collided with a snowboarder on the first day (our family tends to get hurt a lot).
