It's a new year and a new semester. It's that time of year when people are making up there new years resolutions. I usually make up a couple every year, but never exactly stick to them. This year my resolution is a very different one. Each week I plan to have one thing to focus on. This week was to be more positive. I had trouble sticking to this one this week because little did I know how much positivity I was going to need. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong went wrong. I kept on reminding myself to just be positive, and things will work out. Being positive kept me sane. Next week I plan to focus on worrying less becuase worrying doesnt help anything.
I have also set some goals for english this quarter. My biggest goal is to use my time extra, extra wise. I usually wait till the last moment to do absolutely everything (In and out of school). I really need to stop procrastinating, and just get stuff done. Now that basketball season is heating up, I'm barely having time to do homework (or sleep). Now I will start having to use my study hall and weekends (not just sunday). This is kind of irrevelant, but I found this picture on pinterest. It said good grades, sleep, social life. Now pick two. This is really true for me, but this semester I'm going to try to balance all three.
Melissa, your idea to set and maintain a new goal every week is such a unique and interesting idea. I have never heard of someone doing that before but it sounds like a really cool thing to try. I am impressed with the confidence and energy you have in setting your goals and I really hope that you will achieve them.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Ruth, I really enjoyed reading your blog and I was pretty ecstatic when you commented on my blog, so thanks! I think your idea of a new goal each week is very unique (as Terri said). I'm hoping you achieve your goals and achieve them well!

Great post, Melissa, and good comments, Terri and Katie. I really like the idea of focusing on a new goal each week, and I hope you'll keep us updated on your progress. I also like the setup of your blog - you have discovered things in this program that I don't know how to do yet.
